Just what it sounds like, cream of wheat with stuff thrown in.

Salty Cream of Wheat Bars

Ingredients:

2 ounces cream of wheat (more or less)
1 tea. sugar
1 tbs. butter
1 small onion
green peas and/or sm. cubes of carrots
1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
1 or 2 small green chilies (Thai) chopped (optional)
1 tomato
1/2 tea. salt
black pepper to taste
1/4 tea. mustard seed (black)
1 crumbled neem leaf (optional)
1/4 tea. or less flake red pepper
2 tbs. urad dal
1/2 tea. cumin seed
Optional extras: coconut, sesame seed, chopped nuts, shredded raw cucumber(mixed in the same as the coriander)

Procedure:

Brown the white sugar in butter. In a separate saucepan, saut� the spices, chopped onion, peas and carrots. Add the browned sugar. Add 12 cup water, salt, 1/2 of the tomato chopped, and the cream of wheat. Cover and cook until the cream of wheat is done. When its finished, mix in the chopped coriander leaves (and the cucumber). The other ingredients are sprinkled on top. (?One can also sprinkle lemon juice?)

Serves four as a snack.
