Fresh from his bath, the groom is now ready to be spiritually prepared by the priest. | Normally this is done in a fairly serious, if somewhat loosely structured manner. This one held a little comic relief. Indians have taken to cell phones in a BIG way. Almost everyone has them and they are constantly talking on them. During this puja, first the phone of an uncle would ring, then a brother, then a cousin, etc. The priest was getting annoyed as it ruined his concentration on the chants, which must be done precisely. Finally, this one cell kept ringing the same song over and over and over....till the priest figured out ...it was his cell. | ||||

Raghav's father Adesh is obviously exhausted already. He is the primary mover and shaker to this wedding, pulling all the strings and making sure everything is arranged and organized. | ![]() Neelam, Raghav's mother |

The eldest paternal and maternal uncles place the turban on his head. His cousin- sisters tie the 'veil' of pearls in front of his face. Here, it is the groom who is veiled. | ![]() |

![]() The groom's 'best man' is usually his nephew, a symbol of innocence and, I'm sure, hope for fecundity in the marriage. |
![]() In my humble opinion, Raghav has been totally ecliped by Rohan, the world's most adorable groom's companion. |
